A fairy-tale-like fanfiction

Hey hey everyone!! Here's my fic and it is in two main part. This is the first part. Hope you guys like it! Enjoy~

“I am not getting married! Especially not to THAT prince!” I sat there moodily in my room. I can never marry that prince. Why do I have to sacrifice my own future to protect my whole kingdom? Everyone says it is my responsibility as a princess. I wanted to marry a prince … or even an ordinary man I truly love, not just to marry some random prince to protect the kingdom from a war. I have to think of something …<br>Now let me just fill in some details for you. I am a princess from the kingdom crystal and I am princess Adi. I am the oldest out of all of my siblings - I have got a younger brother and sister. So I just got the news that I am to marry this prince for my kingdom’s peace on my 16th birthday. My parents have no choice but chose me to marry that prince because my younger sister is too young. But then again, I am just 15…<br>* * * * * * * *
~~That night~~
I thought of a plan to escape the marriage. I knew this is selfish but I just can’t bring myself to think of what will happen if I marry that prince. I will just die of unhappiness.
But my personal maid who is also my best friend Rachel found out the plan and she insisted on following me because we grew up together and I am the only one in the entire castle that doesn’t treat her as a lower class. I treat her as my best friend. So we started packing and tried to bring everything we could and needed.

~~The Next Day~~
We got out the castle dressed as maids. Luckily no one recognize me so the plan went quite well.
After a while we are at the local town, I haven’t been out much but luckily Rachel knows the way. I didn’t have any idea where we were going. I wished to go somewhere that is far enough for no one to know me. I told Rachel to bring me anywhere away from the kingdom as far as possible, so we went on a ship to somewhere both Rachel and I have never heard of…<br>
~~Two weeks later~~
FINALLY! After two weeks journey we finally got here. Now we are here in this land called freedom. I think this is far enough and no one from my kingdom is going to know that I am here. This is so far away from my own kingdom and I hope my life can just be what this land is called. But now… I guess I have to start everything over again and I am not a princess anymore…<br>* * * * * * * *
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Rachel’s calling. We are at the town centre of the Autumn kingdom. Rachel and I decided to stay in the hotel for a while before we think of what we are going to do next. We have talked to each other and we both agreed that I am not a princess anymore so if anyone asks we will just say that both of our parents are dead from war far away and we are forced to leave the kingdom. War is going to break out as soon as the people back in the castle found me missing.

The Autumn kingdom is a very nice place and it is always Autumn. It is never too cold or too hot. Today I was just walking in the town and looking round with Rachel when we saw this girl sobbing in this dark alleyway. At first we didn’t know what to do but we then decided to go and see if she is all right.
We walked slowly toward her and we asked her whether she is all right. She looked up with her bright blue eyes and shook her head. Now Rachel and I could not possibly leave her in this little alleyway so we brought her back to our hotel room.
She sat in our room and told us about herself. She said she is called Dee and she had just been thrown out of her house because she didn’t listen to her parents. She likes making friends and always makes them laugh but we all know at this time girls are suppose to be subtle and shouldn’t go out all the time to make new friends. I understand this is her nature and it is hard to listen to her parents.
We introduced ourselves and as we got to know each other we all thought that we should stay together and help each other out. We didn’t tell her that I am a princess because I wanted to keep this only between Rachel and I.

~~2 Months Later~~
In this 2 months I have learnt to do a lot. Things like housework that I didn’t have a chance to do when I was still a princess. We rent a house in the kingdom as we all thought that this place is a good place to settle because this is the only kingdom that hasn’t been affected by the war. As the matter of fact not only the war I caused is going on and also there is a war between the other three kingdoms on this land. They are fighting over this magical crystal that can grant any one wish and all three of the kingdoms wanted it. Anyway, but we are also facing our own problem, we are running out of money and we will have to work. We can’t just sit here and do nothing. But I don’t know what to do because I don’t have a lot of experience. Rachel decided she would try to be a maid again working in the castle. I was worried that she would be treated badly in the castle but she was fine working there. Both Dee and I still have no idea what to do…<br>

~~Another Month Later~~
Time is going so slowly… Dee and I still haven’t got any idea what to do and everyday we are just sitting here and did nothing. I thought there is a point to life and I shouldn’t be sitting here doing nothing whilst my best friend working so hard trying to feed all of us.
Today Rachel came back late at night from work and Dee and I were really worried. She told us that the castle is running low on maids because all the princes are just back from their holiday. That’s also why she came back late. Dee and I decided almost immediately that we are going to be maids and help in the castle. That will give us something to do.

~~Two Days Later~~
Today is my first day working in the castle. I was really nervous as this is my first ever job and it is to be a maid working in the castle. I have never even dreamt about working in the castle as a maid when I was still a princess. Anyway, I hope everything goes well…<br>~~Later That Day, back at home~~
I can’t believe what has just happened. All three of us were just tidying the study when the four princes came in and were talking about the war between the kingdoms and they wondered what caused the war. Before I knew what was going on, suddenly I interrupted and told them that it was because the “The Princess Adi” ran away from her kingdom because of her marriage and caused the war. But I realized very soon after I told them what happened that I am just a maid in this castle and they are the princes that I should respect. I can’t act like I am some kind of guest in here. I still wanted a job. So I quickly apologized.
The princes, probably read the shock from my face told me not to worry and try not to do that in front of the king and the queen if I still wanted the job.

Maybe it is because that I am new, they started asking me questions and they treated me like a friend but not a maid. I was confused of what I should do. Should I just talking to them like a normal person or is it some kind of test of how good I am being a new maid?
“As you are new, let us just introduce ourselves, I am Tom and I am the oldest out of all of us. The second oldest is Harry, who is on my left. Then it is Danny and the last, but not least, it is Dougie. Now I have told you our names, tell us your names and don’t worry about us being the princes, just speak to us like you normally would to normal people. This castle is so boring. There is no one else to talk to and you are the only ones who actually interrupted us and talked a decent amount.”<br>“Well, I am Ad…. Amelia. They are Rachel and Dee. Dee and I have just started to work today and Rachel have been here for a while.”<br>“So are you three friends then?” Danny asked
“Yeah we are, and we are like best friends.” said Dee
The conversation continues and we got to know quite well of each other. In simple terms, WE MADE FRIENDS WITH THE FOUR PRINCES IN THE AUTUMN KINGDOM!!!!!!!! All of us were so happy that we could actually make friends with the princes as a maid. I was kind of shocked as well because all the princes I knew from the other kingdoms are really sloppy and horrible. They wouldn’t care for anyone but themselves. This time I have met some decent princes.

Time is going so quickly without all of us realizing it. I nearly spent nine months in the Autumn Kingdom and it has been six months since I got to know the princes and it is now nearly a month till my 16th birthday. To be honest I really have no idea what I am going to do, usually I would have a surprise from my parents and I would spend it with my parents and in the castle with lots of present. Even though I am not back at home this year but I am still kind of excited because this is the first time ever in my life that I am going to spend a birthday out of the castle!

Aww....thx guys....... I feel loved..... I thought to myself: Is my fic that bad that nobody wanted to reply.....? Anywayz..... as you wish, here's more.

Today I was watering the plants in the castle garden. The garden is very big with lots of different colour roses. I always loved watering the plants and looking after them, the garden always reminded me of my own garden, just like this one. Suddenly I heard someone calling “Amelia? Is that you?” I turned around and saw the queen and the king looking at me. I thought “weird, how do the king and the queen know my name?” Anyway, I smiled at them and put down my gardening tools and just about to leave, thinking that they would like to be left alone. But they called me back.
“Don’t go yet, tell me, what’s your name?” the queen asked
“My name is Amelia, your highness.” (Why will they even be interested to ask my name?) I thought
“I can’t believe this, she is so much like…” I heard the queen whispered to the king
“I know darling…. I have an idea…” the king whispered back to the queen and I couldn’t hear the last sentence completely
“Right, you can go home today now and have a rest. I see you have been working hard.” The king said and somehow for a split second I thought he sounded like my father….
